You'll be amazed by the wealth of flora and fauna along your hiking trails.

Short hike in the Gorges du Tarn

Discover a majestic and astonishing site, welcoming and wild at the same time. Follow us into the Gorges du Tarn, starting from a village called Le Rozier.
You won't need a leader or hiking guide for this easy walk.
As you leave the village, on the Tarn side, after the last house, take the signposted path up to the right.
Follow the path and let the signs guide you. But be careful!

This route is part of a day's hiking programme, with easy access and a slight gradient.
It gives you the chance to get up high and discover an impressive landscape. This is a nature trail in the Gorges du Tarn, inviting you to follow the path to the rehabilitated hamlet of La Sablière.

And along the way, be surprised by the majestic flight of the vultures. Reintroduced to the region several decades ago, these imposing birds nest on the cliffs overlooking the Tarn.

The most beautiful trails in the Gorges du Tarn

There are many hiking trails around the Tarn.
Some start from the causse de sauveterre or the causse méjean and descend into the Tarn gorges. Others offer a long-distance crossing to discover the Grands Causses.
Depending on your preferences, this region has something for everyone.
And satisfy every requirement.

It's hard to say which is the most beautiful part of the Gorges du Tarn.
Reaching the crests will give you a panoramic view of these great natural spaces.
Staying in the gorges will give you access to picturesque, medieval villages and hamlets such as Castelbouc, Sainte-Enimie and Saint-Chély-du-Tarn.

We're often asked when we should visit the Gorges du Tarn.

And once again, the answer won't be categorical. Depending on your preferences, you'll find something to suit all seasons.

Spring and autumn are perfect times for hiking. The light is soft and nature is decked out in beautiful colours. Temperatures are just right for sporting activities in the middle of the day: hiking, mountain biking, climbing, etc.

At the height of summer, there are plenty of family activities available. And, of course, you're more likely to choose water sports. Just in case you need a refresher!
